HC34 was a $190m mixed-use development in the middle of Hamburg Harbour consisting of 214 residential apartments, 2,000m² retail outlets, a hotel with 212rooms, serviced apartments, a bar and a restaurant, a cinema with 3 screens and a total of 450 seats, a theatre with 200 seats and two levels of underground parking with 280 spaces.
Situated in the middle of Hamburg Harbour and surrounded by occupied buildings, the program needed to be carefully managed. A DA strategy agreed with the local council meant the client was able to begin works on site 3 months earlier.
With four architects, multiple tenants and the client, stakeholder management was crucial to the success of the project.
