Wildlife Sydney Zoo
Sydney
Merlin Entertainments decided to refurbish and reconfigure the existing Wildlife to make room for the new Madame Tussauds and to upgrade the existing animal enclosures.
Wildlife previously based on two floors were relocated onto the first floor allowing Madame Tussauds to move into groundfloor. The biggest challenge on this project was to ensure the animals welfare while delivering this project on a very tight program with the attraction only being closed to visitors for 6 weeks.
The works involved heavy demolition and major structural works while keeping the impact on animals and guests to a minimum. As part of the works new animal displays, such as an enclosure for the Tasmanian Devil, were introduced.
